Pictionary Charades

Tonight we went over to The Baldwin's for Part 2 of Parker's Birthday Weekend. They had so much food leftover from his party on Saturday, that they invited us over for dinner tonight. We had delicious steaks and the best grilled chicken I have ever tasted {Cindy I need the recipe}. We had so many yummy appetizers, salads, dips, and desserts, that I actually need all the recipes. So after our feast, we all got together for a competitive game of Pictionary Charades. Now before I tell you about the game, you have to know that The Baldwin's are a Game family. They love games. And it is so fun to play with them. They know so many card games, that I am going to have to start taking weekly lessons. They also have a daughter that is home from college for the weekend that is the {QUEEN} of games. She loves to win, and hates to lose. If she loses, then there is a rematch, or she just 'let you win'. {Love ya, Raq!} This game Pictionary Charades is just like the title says you play with the Pictionary cards and board, but you don't draw, you use charades. It was so much fun I think even 'the bachelor' had a good time. We had some tough ones including:
counterfeit money
celery
boa constrictor
Charlie Brown
pastry
And then we had some funny ones:
skunk
fossil
hibernating
safe
bride
Which ones did I miss????.....I was laughing so hard that I know there are a ton that I forgot...help me out Cindy!
It was another super fun night...too bad it was Sunday and there was work and school calling our names, or we could have played all night...

A Few Of My Favorite Things...

I know I am usually sharing my favorite scrapbook products. But today, I have something different to tell you about! I just got a lovely package in the mail and it had 'the goods' in it.

Last November, I started using a new facial cleanser, toner, and lotion. It has done wonders for my skin. It is by Oxygen Botanicals, and I was introduced to it at my friend's spa. I love all their products and I feel that they are really working. If I use it consistently, I never have a blemish. This same friend introduced me to Bare Escentuals. My sisters have been using their makeup for years now. But I had never tried it. I also LOVE it! My new favorite is their lipgloss. All I can say is yummy, yummy colors. And it feels so good on your lips!
Thanks so much, friend.
Chauve Hair Removal & Spa is an amazing place, but for the locals it is going to be a little out of the way {it is in Utah}. Thank goodness for happy mail! If you need some of 'the goods' just let me know. I've got a friend...

I'm A Chef!

*Edit: This is a pic with the hotel chef at CKU-Chicago!
But I didn't cook dinner at home tonight {I ate dinner at a grocery store, but that is an entirely different post}. My house is a mess and I have tons of work to do. Lots of ideas up in my head that I need to get out on paper. But I wanted to post about something that is new and exciting! I have just been asked to be on Rusty Pickle's Design Team! Yes! I am a Rusty Pickle Chef! Ever since I met Lance and Tasha last summer, I have been wishing to work with such great people, with such a great company. I remember even two years ago when I was at CHA for my first time, just standing in their booth staring at their paper. I LOVED IT! It was just my style. A little shabby, a little rough around the edges, a little rusty. I know I have been teaching for them and living my dream of teaching & scrapbooking, but this is going to be so cool! I am surrounded and inspired by the most fabulous people in this whole scrapbook design world, and I have only met a handful of them! I am so excited for what is in store.....keep watching! Check out their website here.
Can you tell I am a little overzealous? I think I used way too many exclamation points in this post...

Mom's Day

I never knew roses smelled this good!
I hope everyone had a wonderful day. I was thinking about all of the wonderful moms that I know and sending extra special wishes their way! I had a good day, just loving on my kids. I received some extra special handmade gifts, they always make me smile. ! I am so grateful for the three reasons I am a Mom: Christian, Sydnee, and Ella.

For The Love of The Game

Spring sports are in full swing right now. Lots of practices and games. Sydnee finished up basketball and immediately started spring soccer. Christian is in baseball twice a week, and soccer on Saturdays. Even though it is very busy, I am really loving their games. I also think I am starting to develop a competitive spirit and a desire to see them learning new skills and playing well. On Thursday, Christian had a baseball game. He decided to tryout for Little League this year, and plays for an Intermediate team. This was his 6th game, and his team has lost all their previous games. This game was tied 8 to 8. I had to leave after the 4th inning to take Sydnee to Girl Scouts. I thought that after I dropped her off I would just go home and finish making dinner. Instead, I drove back to the baseball game. They lost in the last inning 9 to 8. It was a great game. I love to see my children learning their sport, and having a good time with their teams. I think I have caught the {baseball} fever...

Say What You Need To Say

Take all of your wasted honor

Every little past frustration

Take all of your so-called problems,

Better put ‘em in quotations

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Walking like a one man army

Fighting with the shadows in your head

Living out the same old moment

Knowing you’d be better off instead,

If you only could . . .

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Have no fear for giving in

Have no fear for giving over

You’d better know that in the end

Its better to say too much

Then never say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shaking

And your faith is broken

Even as the eyes are closing

Do it with a heart wide open

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

the luckiest

i don't get many things right the first time
in fact, i am told that a lot
now i know all the wrong times,
the stumbles and falls
brought me here
and where was i before the day
that i first saw your lovely face?
now i see it everyday, and i know...

that i am, i am
i am the luckiest

what if i'd been born 50 years before you
in a house on the street where you lived
maybe i'd be outside as you passed on your bike
would i know?
and in a wide sea of eyes
i see one pair that i recognize
and i know...

that i am, i am

i am the luckiest

i love you more than i have ever found a way to say to you

next door there's an old man,
who lived to his 90s and one day
passed away in his sleep
and his wife, she stayed for a couple of days
and passed away
i'm sorry i know that's a strange way to tell you that i know we belong
that i know...

that i am, i am

i am the luckiest

How You've Grown

"My, how you've grown."

I remember that phrase from my childhood days too.

"Just wait and see."

I remember those words and how they chided me,

when patient was the hardest thing to be.

Because we can't make up for the time that we've lost,

I must let these memories provide.

No little girl can stop her world to wait for me.

I should have known.

At your age, in a string of days the year is gone.

But in that space of time, it takes so long.

Because we can't make up for the time that we've lost,

I must let those memories provide.

No little girl can stop her world to wait for me.

Every time we say goodbye

you're frozen in my mind

as the child that you never will be,

you never will be again.

I'll never be more to you than a stranger could be.

Every time we say goodbye

you're frozen in my mind

as a child that you never will be, will be again

Stamping and Scrapbooking by Scrapaganza!

This month's Pinecone Press Book was created by our scrapbook store, Scrapaganza! These are pictures of the projects that I had published in the book. We had to wait quite a few months for the big reveal, but it was well worth it. Last Thursday, we had the chance to share it with our Not Your Ordinary Book Club members. It was a fantastic party! Again, I was not the photographer of the evening, but will have to get some pics from my gals and post them here soon.

I have no time to ponder over that which has been denied."

Two Days Late

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

I hope everyone had fun whatever they did. My LSS had a crop on Friday and Saturday until midnight! I was there until the wee hours of the morning both days. On Saturday I taught a Rusty Pickle class. I wish I would have taken a few pics of the gals that finished their layouts. I loved how they changed them up a bit and made them their own. It was a crazy two hours of creating, but everyone was pretty much happy with how their pages turned out. I didn't take any photos, so I will just borrow a few from my friends' blog. Thanks Candi!

Happy May!

Just a few pictures today.....just to make up for yesterday. Do you think that these two get along? Talk about sibling rivalry! I am going to need a good referee whistle this summer.

I also don't have very many pictures of me with the kids....so I had the kids take these. They did a great job.

I love the beginning of a new month, it is like a new, fresh start!

Finally putting away the winter coats today....I hope Spring is here to stay!
