The playlist is back...I don't know why, but I found some songs from Grey's Anatomy and I wanted to put them somewhere. So here they are. I hope it is ok.
It is rainy and cold here, if you can believe it. Preparing my lesson for church tomorrow, and going to a surprise party for one of the YW later tonight. Hoping to scrap a little bit later tonight. Enjoy doing nothing much.
I am reading two books right now. Gone With The Wind , for my book club out west, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I want to finish this and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince before the last one comes out on July 21st. Happy Saturday!

Lets See What We Have Here...
So there is a new blog in town and it is so much fun. The little scrapbook store that I work at has jumped on the blog wagon. Go right over and take a look at all of the fun product that arrives on a daily basis. There is also some cool bios on all of our unique designers. It is the place to be if you scrapbook in the Quad Cities or if you are a relative of someone who works there. (Thanks for looking, Mom!) Candi has been working so hard on getting it "just right", so make sure you go here and have a look.

Tim (Not Jim) Holtz
This guy has got to be the sugar daddy of CKU. He was so easy to approach and ask him any question you want. I have seen him at CHA, but was so star struck. Here at CKU, he was just one of the guys, the only guy! At the crop on Thursday night, my friend Erin, just walked up and asked him a question about embossing powder and he just sat at our table and talked, and talked, and talked. I learned so much from him. I took his Memories Under Glass class on Saturday and it is the hidden gem of CKU. Such a great idea for scrappers!
The other picture is of my hands working so fast on a pirate book in a Rusty Pickle class. Lance, Mr. Pickle, moves so fast, you really have to work quickly! But it was so fun. I have three unfinished Rusty Pickle projects, so as soon as they are done I will post some pictures. More tomorrow.....
**Edit: As I am looking at this picture a little bit closer...these are Lance Anderson's from Rusty Pickle's hands, not mine. Oops.

Beaches
After being gone for five days, I wanted to do something fun with my kids. Candi called this morning and invited us to West Lake Beach with her, Hallie, and Reese for a picnic and afternoon of swimming, castle and moat building, and just plain fun. We had a great time. Ella loved the water, Christian and Sydnee found enjoyment in just playing together, I love seeing that as their mom.
Who needs California beaches when we now found one in Iowa!
CKU-Amazing
Here are just three pictures from my CKU experience. I have so much to share and I will have to do it in the next couple of days. My roomates were amazing! Val, Erin, Kathy, and Sandy. Unbelievable how well we get along with just meeting a few days ago.
Ali, Ali, Ali.....she is an amazing teacher. Her album class was beyond the best at CKU. After graduation, and it was all said and done, I just didn't feel that I could ask her for an autograph, so I just said goodbye to a new friend. She is real, she is smart, and she gets it. She gets life and is living it to the fullest.
Erin P. was another scrapbook soulmate that I met in Anaheim. She really just 'gets' me. She has a wonderful, kind, charismatic personality. We met during a mini-class on Thursday and were pretty much inseparable until her husband and darling daughter came on Saturday night.
This is just a few of my experiences that I had. It truly is something that I am still trying to internalize. Just give me a few more days and I will share some more of the fun! Like staying up with Val, Mr. Pickle, and a buch of other crazy scrappers until 4 am.....

How ironic....
I am waiting in the Denver Airport to go home to Craig and the kids in Iowa. The gate right next to the Moline, IL gate is going to SLC, UT.....go figure. I really want to get on that flight to Utah...grateful that I love my hubby and kids enough to go home to them.
{2012 Note: Even though this event happened in 2007, I have had this experience at airports throughout the country while I was traveling for work. Wherever I was going there seemed to be a flight to Utah at the gate next to me. Really. }

6/13/07
"It is light @ 5:30 am?" I was leaving for the airport to attend CKU Anaheim and my friend/neighbor, Sue, took me in the wee hours of the morning. I guess I don't get up very early because I didn't know that the sun rose this early. Sue had to confirm for me that it is light at 5:30, since she is usually up at this time running, or getting ready for work.

Inspirational Etsy
I found this apron over on the Etsy website. I love going through different shops and looking for inspirational items for my scrapbook designs. What do you think? I need to start doing some more baking if I am going to purchase this....
Leaving On A Jet Plane...
Candi is giving me a hard time because I haven't updated in a while. I have been working hard on my homework for CKU. I am taking Ali Edward's album track...A Week In The Life. This has been a very eye-opening experience for me. I have taken over 200 pictures! They are being processed and printed as we speak at HyVee. I am getting very excited to leave early Wednesday morning. I am a bit nervous, going by myself, but I also feel blessed for all of the support that I have been given....one person that I haven't really thanked is Craig. This whole scrapbooking world is something that he is trying to figure out. He has really supported me and since he is taking off work this week, I am grateful.
