I always shared a room growing up....I had 4 sisters. When I got a little bit older, like twelve, my dad finished our basement and I had a room of my own. Every night, I went to sleep on the floor in my sister's room. I did not want to be alone. I then went to college, and had a roommate. I shared a room there too. Then I got married and have been sharing a room with the same guy for over 13 years. I guess I don't like having a room of my own.
My friend Cathey made this vinyl sign for my friend where her girls share a room. She has some great quotes and designs that go on the wall!
I also have another friend, Candi, that makes vinyl designs! Both of these ladies are creative....go check out their sites!

Winter Always Comes....
I found this video on a blog while I have been waiting for the laundry to dry....that is about it for today. This video inspired me and if you are a photographer, artist {isn't everyone?}, or just someone trying to make it through....it is for you.

I've Got Connections...
When you have a friend that travels for her job all over the state, there are many perks. First, she tells you were all the good scrapbooking stores are. And she finds all the 'latest and greatest' stuff. She also tells you where the good junk stores are. And she can also take pictures of a town that has your last name! Isn't this so cool??? Don't you just love the new blog banner? It is my FAVORITE!
Thanks Lynn!

There is still time for love....
I had the most yummiest cookies at the Twisted Sistas crop a few weeks ago. They were so soft, and had the perfect sweetness. Cathey made them and I could not stop eating them! So if you make these, be sure to share....*wink*
The Yummiest Sugar Cookie
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups better for bread flour
2 tsp cream of tarter
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Cream butter, sugar and add eggs one at a time - beat after each one. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamy mixture. Chill at least 3 hours - overnight is better. Roll out on well-floured board
350 Degrees 6-8 minutes depending on how thick your dough is.
Use your kitchen aid mixer - dough is really thick at the end.

All Things Gritty...
{My friend who created the gritty blog & I}
Many of my friends have heard me say, "Ooohhh that is just gritty!" Then they look at me and laugh. It is really hard to explain what is gritty. It is a word that was created by my best friend and her sister. It can be so many things....but when it catches your eye...you just know. It can be something cute, something 'put together' just perfect, something old, a new idea, when you see it you know that it is gritty.
Well, I am always calling my best friend and giving her ideas for blogs that she needs to start. And now she has started one {this wasn't one of my ideas though} and it is....well just gritty. Check it out!

This is it...
{Paper: Rusty Pickle; paint: Ranger Industries; letter stickers: American Crafts and Rusty Pickle; chipboard star: Rusty Pickle; acrylic stars: Prima; white pen: Uniball; Ribbon, Graphite Glimmer Mist}
I have come to the realization that the definition of scrapbooking doesn't mean it always has to be creating with paper, ribbon, some photos, and embellishments. It can be:
writing down a thought, something you don't want to forget
editing/organizing photos
blogging
sharing an idea or tip with someone
putting a memory on your heart
being inspired by someone or something
a new idea
transcribing a quote
photos and words
thinking
remembering
This is Scrapbooking....
What is your definition?
Since this is the beginning of a new year, here on the blog {post 366}; leave me a comment and I will give away a RAK pack of goodies! I will draw a random winner on Tuesday, 2/10, 11 am CST.

Project 365
No, I have not been taking pictures every day since the beginning of 2009. But I did just go into my dashboard on blogger and realize this is my 365th post to my blog! So now I do have a Project 365...getting this blog made into a book. I am on my way to blurb {where you can make your blog into a book!}
