Fourth of July Breakfast

My friend & I look great on only 5 hrs. of sleep and no makeup!

We went to the church for an early morning breakfast. This was probably one of my favorite moments from the whole weekend. The flag raising and singing the National Anthem...it always is a highlight for me. I am so grateful to live in this country. I am grateful for those that serve in this country to protect my family. I met an older gentleman, a farmer, who has lived in this area for 57 years. As I spoke to him, I felt gratitude for his experience in this area of the country. He farmed this area that I live for years and years, it was an American tradition! I enjoyed our conversation and want to remember his legacy in this area where we are raising our children.

The breakfast was simple, yet yummy! Pancakes, sausage, watermelon, juice, and milk. Just the right way to start our 4th of July Day...

Fourth of July Weekend: The Drive-In

Our weekend started with a trip to the Drive-In on Thursday night. We saw Kung-Fu Panda and The Incredible Hulk. The kids loved Kung-Fu Panda {for the 2nd time} and the girls slept through The Incredible Hulk, but Christian and I liked it alright. We went with three families from our ward: The Poock's, Bryner's, and Ford's. We always have so much fun with these families! Our kids' all get along and have a good time together. And this time they even had a train that they were driving around for the kids! This is one of our favorite things this summer...we are even going back in a few weeks for Walle! Come and join us!

A Trip To The Park

Mondays are always the day that we go to the library. Sydnee has really caught the reading bug! I think she checked out 27 books. Christian is listening to books on CD. Right now, he is listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. After the library, I told my kids we could go to the park if they would endure a trip to the grocery store. When we got to the park, two families from school were there! They played for over two hours. The weather is perfect for the park. It is not even over 80 degrees. I don't have any photos because I am 'in between cameras' right now. Craig took mine to use at work and I get to buy a new one! The digital SLR is over budget, do you have any other suggestions????
