It's a night and day difference with flexibility, shutter speeds, etc. The only thing is, the digital SLRs are much more bulky and heavy. The ideal is to get a nice little one to throw in your bag and take anywhere and have a digital SLR for when you don't have to carry it all day. In the past, I bought Olympus--liked their film cameras. Then I switched to Canon and have bought three of them. Can't go wrong with anything Canon. You're welcome to experiment with mine if you want to. I also have a little Sony that I carry with me almost everywhere. Love the size and quality of the pictures for such a small piece of equipment.Sherihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16529473002079272458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1747625328711845161.post-13784968288286418812008-07-08T00:00:00.000-05:002008-07-08T00:00:00.000-05:00I was in the same camera situation last fall--want...I was in the same camera situation last fall--wanting an SLR, but not quite able to make the $$$ jump. I ended up with a Canon Powershot A570 IS (Image Stabilization) for about $200. It's come down since. I've been really happy with Canon point-and-shoots, but I still wish I had spent the $200 and more on an SLR. Next time I'm gonna bite the bullet and do it, even if it has to be birthday, Mother's Day, and Christmas!Harmonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18235827161802742810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1747625328711845161.post-83651616660129748092008-07-06T20:54:00.000-05:002008-07-06T20:54:00.000-05:00I have a Canon SX100. I haven't figured everything else out yet. The only negative is the flash takes way too long to recharge, but I don't need it too often.Balkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10689141991663674012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1747625328711845161.post-35909151424921681422008-07-03T12:50:00.000-05:002008-07-03T12:50:00.000-05:00PS... we are lovin' the playlist!! You might just be happy with the decision... tiny P&S still have limitations, and you can't really "go anywhere" with them... what you get is what ya got... with an SLR, you can always get a better lens, etc...

Good luck! :)

The Canon XT and XTi just went down in $ since the new version was released...Penny Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16580700219618396931noreply@blogger.com
